Five years ago I journeyed to Bears Ears National Monument with my great friend and desert explorer republicofdoom. We went to bring awareness to the shrinking borders due to legislation from an administration with little respect for the protection of Native lands and natural spaces. Our ride mission was to honor the place and the people in hopes that the importance of protecting this area might be recognized by more people. Collectively, organizations like bearsearscoalition protectourwinters & cedarmesafriends and many of you elevated the message and thankfully the borders of Bears Ears National Monument have been recently restored to their original boundaries. This beautiful and significant land in Utah is once again preserved. This year, Doom and I went back to Bears Ears National Monument, this time to celebrate the newly restored protected borders and to give our thanks to the Native people who have looked after this precious place for centuries. Doom and I share a deep love and respect for natural spaces. Moved by moving in the outdoors, we went exploring. By spending time in the canyons and under the stars, we connected with past, present, and future humans on common ground...our collecdtive home, Mother Earth.
