PhotoChromic lenses automatically adjust their tint when exposed to varying light levels. These lenses darken in response to bright sunlight and return to a lighter state when you’re in shadowy or indoor conditions.
PhotoChromic lenses work through a chemical reaction triggered by exposure to ultraviolet light. The key component in these lenses is a PhotoChromic compound.
When exposed to UV light, like in sunlight, the PhotoChromic molecules undergo a chemical change. The UV light excites the molecules, causing them to absorb energy and transition to a different molecular configuration making your lenses darker.
When the UV light decreases, when you go indoors or when the sunlight diminishes, the PhotoChromic molecules revert to their original configuration and your lenses gradually return to their original state
Our proprietary blend of ChromaPop™ & photochromic technology creates bigger VLT swings, faster transition times, and improved optical clarity.
These lenses use all three technologies of ChromaPop™, polarization, and photochromic. They automatically enhance color, adjust tint, and cut glare, all in a glass lens.
Glacier Photochromic: These photochromic lenses are specifically designed to perform well in extremely cold conditions, and are less sensitive to temperature changes.
These lenses are both photochromic and polarized, they automatically adjust tint and cut glare.
These lenses are both photochromic and use our ChromaPop technology, they automatically adjust tint and enhance color.
