Bear Holeman
Fishing
Key West, FL
Bryan “Bear” Holeman has spent his life pursuing the outdoors. He never thought he would make a career out of fishing. It all started one summer when he worked at Boca Grande Outfitters, truly a world class fly shop on a truly unique island in Florida. On his free time, he would fish next to all the elite guides in the middle of the Boca Grande pass. He would catch huge tarpon, while laughing and cutting up like crazy. He was completely and totally hooked.
He fished everything he could find, slept in his truck, and met some of “the finest people he could possibly know.” He fished the ESPN2 Redfish Cup for almost a decade and every other tournament he could. To date he has fished over 330 tournaments. He’s had a lot of success and learned more at every tournament.
Today, Bear runs inshore and offshore charters out of Key West, Florida. Guiding is the outlet which allows him to maintain sharp skills and his drive has taken him far beyond the basics of the sport he loves. He along with his wife, Jenn, and son, Bannon have their own little slice of paradise and live their American dream.
