Gen Sasaki

Skier

Niseko Hokkaido, Japan

Ask Gen

How would you describe yourself as an athlete?

Ski crazy athlete. I just want to ski better and better every day! Not just jump, not just speed, I love to do everything with super high quality! One day I want to ski like the flow of a river.

What is something you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?

Skier of the year! Winning ski film awards! My wish is to attract more people to ski through my skiing work! I want to inspire, want to see more people skiing!

If you could spend a day with any other Smith athlete, who would it be and why?

Bobby Brown, I've watched all of his winning moments in the big events and watched his freeride movies. I want to go backcountry and jump together! That would be an awesome experience.

Gen Sasaki started skiing at the age of 2. Growing up in Niseko, Gen was able to explore the Niseko mountains every day alongside his family. He is proud to have honed his skills by skiing in the best powder in the world and credits his hometown for his skills and experience today.
